Phosphatidic acid: a molecule specifically for the trichological treatment
which stimulates the growth and proliferation of capillary bulb cells, prolonging
the anagen phase and reducing the Catagen one.
Riboflavin: a group B vitamin particularly important in the metabolism of skin
appendages. It plays a protective role in maintaining cell integrity and
promoting a regular development.
S.O.D.: extracted from the seeds of melon, super oxide dismutase reduces
the toxic effect of free radicals by neutralizing them. Its protective action
ensures the proper development of the hair bulb and dermal epidermal cells.
Amino acids: they’re the biological basis for the construction of proteins.
They ensure the proper development of the stem and the matrix of the hair.
Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is a substance that’s believed to promote healing when injected. Plasma is a component of your blood that contains special “factors,” or proteins that support cell growth. The idea is that injecting PRP into damaged tissues will stimulate your body to grow new, healthy cells and promote healing. Because the tissue growth factors are more concentrated in the prepared growth injections, researchers think the body’s tissues may heal faster. It is an approved procedure by Health Canada and can only be administered by Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, and Physicians.
Researchers are trying out PRP injections across a number of applications as below. At this moment in our clinic, we are focusing on the treatment of deeper scars, stretch marks, hair loss and skin renewal.
Scars, stretch marks and skin renewal: The main concept of PRP is to facilitate healing by regenerating new and healthy cells. That’s why it is very helpful to treat scar tissue and grow new skin cells.
Hair loss: Doctors have injected PRP into the scalp to promote hair growth and prevent hair loss. According to researchTrusted Source from 2014, PRP injections are effective in treating androgenic alopecia, which is also known as male pattern baldness.
Tendon injuries: Tendons are tough, thick bands of tissue that connect muscle to bone. They are usually slow to heal after injury. Doctors have used PRP injections to treat chronic tendon problems, such as tennis elbow, Achilles tendonitis at the ankle, and jumper’s knee, or pain in the patellar tendon in the knee.
Acute injuries: Doctors have used PRP injections to treat acute sports injuries, such as pulled hamstring muscles or knee sprains.
Postsurgical repair: Sometimes doctors use PRP injections after surgery to repair a torn tendon (such as a rotator cuff tendon in the shoulder) or ligaments (such as the anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL).
Osteoarthritis: Doctors have injected PRP into the knees of people with osteoarthritis. A 2015 studyTrusted Source found that PRP injections were more effective than hyaluronic acid injections (a traditional therapy) for treating osteoarthritis.
1. A healthcare professional will draw a sample of your blood in the amount of 15 ml which equals to around one tablespoon. The blood will be drawn directly into a special tube that has a separating mechanism to help extract PRP.
2. The tube is then placed into a centrifuge. This is a machine that spins around very quickly, causing the blood components to separate. The separation process takes about 10 minutes.
3. A medical professional takes the separated plasma and prepares it for injection into the affected area. We use painless Mesogold 20 injection system to precisely inject the PRP to site.
4. After the injection we will advise you of the post treatment care and you can go back to most activities immediately.
5. The entire process takes about 45 to 60 minutes.
